There will be course maps to study at registration at the Staveley Hall.
42km Marathon:
There will be a drop box facility at Woolshed Creek car park which we will take there from the Staveley Hall. This will enable you to have a second bag of supplies for the second half of the marathon, however you must still have the compulsory equipment in this bag. You must also clearly label this bag so you will know which one is yours at our aid station. Please note there is a substantial climb from Sharplin Falls carpark to Aclands shelter, and there is limited water between these points. You can expect to take over an hour to cover this distance, so please carry adequate hydration.
Marathon Cut off Times:
The marathon consists of predominately technical single track, with nearly 2000 metres of vertical to climb - it is a challenging course. Be ready to add a couple of hours to your road marathon time, this is an adventure run! The average time for the marathon is 6.5 hours and the half is 4.5 hours. If you are running the marathon you must be at the half way point (Woolshed Creek car park) by 12:30pm to meet the cut-off. If you make this you are good to carry on. There is no cut off time for the half marathon - once you are on it, the only way out is by foot!
21km Half Marathon:
The shuttle is compulsory and part of your entry fee - no cars will be permitted to enter the Woolshed Creek carpark so if anyone wants to watch you start they will have to walk for 2kms. There will be shuttles leaving from Staveley Hall from 0715 (when they are full). Last shuttle leaves at 0745 so don't be late! There is also $200 CASH for the first person who breaks two hours....
There will be a drop box at the start of the half marathon for you to drop any extra clothing off for us to return to the finish line. Please have this equipment clearly named (Enduranz Events takes no responsibility for lost or damaged property).
Age categories:
When you enter you will automatically go into your appropriate age category:
Youth (U18)
Open (18-39)
Veteran (40-49)
Classic (50+) (DOB as at 2/11/19)
Thanks to Tavendale & Partners, the winners of the Open Marathon race (male and female) receive $500 CASH. Wahoo! So if you think you have a crack at winning the Open title and want $500 but fall out of the age bracket, please email info@enduranzevents.co.nz and we can swap your category.
All courses can be walked, but there is no separate category for walkers.
The
marathon and 10km runners will get wet feet in the first kilometre of the race. The perils of off-road running!
